I got mine in the winter of 1989 / 1990 (I think). They have been made for 50 years and all the refinements can be retrofitted to any of the earlier models. Tough machines that are easy to use and can do straight, curved, or oval moldings and raised panels too. The cost of knives/blades is the hardest to come to grips with. I want to make my own blade grinder and have been scrounging parts to that end. Pre-drilled blade steel can be bought for $4 to $5 an inch as compared to $25 or more per inch for stock or custom ground ones. There are 2 companies in the States selling Asian made clones that are cheaper but I can't say if they are equal to the origional.
