Sorry Roger, but I stand by my comments.
The Public Transport services failed by not informing their customers what they KNEW. In my example Charing Cross station was NOT closed but their information services (Web, Telephone and TV) all said it WAS. This is misinformation and caused MORE chaos within London. People were speaking of 2 hour walks across London which were totaly unescesary as when they finally got to London Bridge they were told Charing Cross was OPEN. The staff were very helpful, as were the police. But their published information (which we rely on at times like this) was terrible and I believe IMHO they should have a proper emergency plan for informing customers how they can get home.
The emergency services dealt with this better than I could ever have imagined and deserve medals. It prooves that since 9/11 the work to prepare for this has succeeded
