Mary of the fourth form, Boomtown Rats. Courtesy of Dale Winton on Pick of the Pops 1977. A good year for me, I was 18. Do you know what their first hit was?

Wow that takes me back a bit !...
I went to see them in the Caird Hall , Dundee in 1977
I was 12, and got my mum to take me and my pal !

My ma couldn't get her head around 'Johnny Fingers' and his Pyjama's !
They were supported by an Irish group, "Protex" ...
Never heard much about them afterwards, caught them once on "Luxie", and Peely played a track on his late night show around about the same time.

Of the "Irish Punks" of around the same time - I personally grew to much prefer Stiff Little Fingers... still occasionally listen to the odd tune of their's on the old i-pod !
Jake Burns could chant out a reasonable tune

Good 'blast from the past' shout ! :D :D

I'm listening to 'Chinese Democracy' Guns n Roses at the moment. It's just about drowning out the ruddy ventilation system here.

I'm listening to the air handling system in my shop at work.

Are they a new American Grunge band Dave? :D

Yes, they evolved from AIR SUPPLY.
in the same way as STARSHIP evolved from Jefferson Airplane.

Give it a year or two and they will be calling themselves "AIR CONDITIONING" or "HEAT PUMP"

:D :D :D :D

My wife, giving me an ear bending.

......Someones just tried to take £34K out of her bank account  .

Paul

Blimey, tried to buy yourself a LV block plane with her credit card eh?

Sorry to be flippant, that doesn't sound good.

Thats it, she did not have it, allthought we transferred a largish sum a few days a go to buy a car.

The bank fraud department rang to check that the three cheques totaling £34K were genuine..... She said no, they replied that they would look into it.

This was after she gave here security details, more bells rang when she called them back and asked for the particular fraud department they told her they did not have one there......More bells ringing.

I think this would be a good time to slip in an order for a Veritas NX60 block plane 8) .

Eep

Still, if you're ordering one for yourself...
'Darn those pesky fraudsters, why on earth would I buy a dozen block planes??'

Update,

SWIMBO checked internet banking this morning, Naziwest Bank returned the stolen cheque for £16,500, great, but managed to charge £38 for the pleasure
