I just thought it might be worth posting a reminder in case anyone's forgotten - the rather fine Festival of the Tree will be happening again next weekend, Friday through to Monday.

Event details are on the Forestry Commission site here:

http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/infd-6xclux

but for most of us I expect the main draw will be the masterclasses put on by Classic Hand Tools, which include someone called Phil Edwards talking about Wooden Planes!

http://www.classichandtools.com/cht-masterclasses.html

You'll need to be there on Friday for that, which is also the best time to get there for the widest selection of interesting timber and second-hand tools, if previous years are anything to go by.

CHT also seem to be offering "special deals" - which could save you the £10 admission charge.

I'll be there - who else is going along?

unfortunately i'm at a wedding on the friday , but i might go on the saturday if the weathers good as its only just down the road from here

I will be exhibiting and demonstrating making fan birds. When I get some free time you will see me hunting tools, not just in the classic hand tool tent, but also at some of the fine and interesting second hand tool stalls.

I'll be there demonstrating plane thingies - don't forget to say Hi if you're going to the show! Let's hope the weather is going to be sunny :D
Philly :D

The weather forecast is getting better - BBC forecast for Tetbury is "sunny intervals" for the weekend.

If anyone wants to see someone making a fool of themselves, come to the Gloucestershire Association of Woodturners tent on Friday morning where I may be demonstrating. All things being equal.

Phil
