Yep, me too ! I've got the last couple of weeks of August off as vacation so will try and make the first day to take advantage of the best timber and hopefully a bit quieter too !
Must make an effort to take a look round the grounds this year too, been three times and never actually managed it
tempting to drive up for the day, but probably a bit too far. Would be nice to see it on the Friday. Monday last year was the wrong day to go. Everything seemed like it'd fizzled out.
yep you can, but she's only been with us a week and having lived her first three years in a 6 by 6 cage kennel she's petrified of crowds - so chances are i'll leave her and swimbo at home
Yes, its well worth a visit. Goes on for 4 days and you will see some of the best turners, carvers, furniture makers and woodcrafters of all description set in the beautiful grounds of the National Arborutum in Gloucestershire.
If you haver a few days down there you might want to visit Bath which isn't far away and also The Great Dorset Steam Fair near Blandford Forum which has lots of stuff to do with wood and attracts over 200,00 people over 5 days.
Can't make the Friday after all as something else has come up, so probably the Saturday then with all the crowds and hope the best timber hasn't already gone.
Then again, not sure why I want any more timber really, think I must be addicted or have OCD or something :-k
I'll be there on Friday - hope to learn some of the flat earth skills in the Classic Hand tool tent. Will also be around the spinny stuff also. Have my new badge so stop me and say hi if you see me.
Couldn't really figure why I would be going again this year, having been last two or three years, seen Rob C's demo's several times, not really wanting to spend at the moment, and having more than enough timber for the immediate future
The twenty or thirty quid for fuel, and the day itself, can be better used sorting out gardens and stuff at home which desperately need some time and effort .......
Anyway, looks like good weather so look forwards to some reports and pics from those that do go, have a good time and make me jealous !
Well, I’ve just came back from Westonbirt. First time I’ve ever been, and I must say some very impressive work. Also managed to pick myself up a set of callipers, for £8 not too bad!
