No tool related presents for the first time in a few years, but then as I have had absolutely no inclination to go anywhere near the workshop for the last few months I guess that's a good thing.

You guys are missing a trick here...

Like most people's family mine are a nightmare to buy for, they have everything they want and all they want from life 'is too see you happy'... very helpful, I'll get a happy life next time in in John Lewis shall I??

To make their lives easier (because I'm so very caring and considerate) every time I think of anything I could possibly want I write it down, over a period of months the list gets to quite a few things (like a hundred). Then if people ask is there anything you'd like there's a huge list, so you don't know what you're getting, they get to suprise you with something you definitely do want, a win-win situation.

This year was a tenon saw (Lynx range with walnut handle, thanks dad!) cabinet screwdrivers (brother) and a flour shaker (the last one isn't for woodwork, and I've been too cheap to buy one for 5 years). This really is a great idea, if only I could convince my family to write a list too then maybe my life could be easier also?!
