I have just received my first cutter from Wealden Tool Company and have got to say I'm very impressed with it already.

Ordering from Wealden was easy (loads of cutters separated into types) and the prices are pretty decent there too. On advice from another UKWorkshop member I ordered the T-Slot & Pilot cutter for use on my Router table project and jigs that I have planned to use with it.

Ordered the cutter and some lobe knobs yesterday and received package today so I can't complain about that :D . Opened the jiffy bag and out popped the knobs and a small green box with the router bit in it.

Opened the green box and was immediately disappointed to see the cutter itself was... malformed... or was it?

It turns out that Wealden ship the cutters with a semi-hard gel coating to protect it. This definitely boded well for this cutter as other cutters I've ordered elsewhere were just sent in a plastic bag with no protective coating.

After peeling the gel off, using the cutter was impressive. It gives a very neat cut in both pine and chipboard (OK that was all the waste wood I have lying around at present  ) but I think this is going to be a good purchase, especially for making adjustable jigs.

One thing I did mess up though... It was the wrong damn cutter    I had looked at it the other day and then decided on the keyhole cutter instead of the T-Slot one as the keyhole one actually cuts a correct 12.7mm slot for using m8 bolts in. The cutter I bought is a 28mm x 8mm T Slot which seemed a bit big for the m8 bolts I was going to use. Thing is though I've now realised it allows the use of an aluminium or plastic sleeve over the m8 bolt which stops the threads cutting the wood either side of the slot and the extra slot area underneath allows using washers which spreads the contact area on the wood reducing stress.

So remember even if you break the eggs... you can still scramble them

On my impression of the cutter and Wealden, I can recommend both. I tI will no doubt be ordering from there again. 8)
