Hi everyone i hope the christmas madness has not kept you out of the workshop?
I am looking to buy a decent finishing paste wax, i like the look of the Miniwax paste finishing wax, but finding it in the uk is like finding rocking horse DooDoos, can any of you very knowledgeable people recommend one to me that you use or know of, i want to use it primarily for the bottom of my table saw sled, but im sure i will use it on a lot more once i have it
any help with this guys and gals would be appreciated

I like to have some microcrystalline wax about. it would be fine for your sled and for various other jobs. I am not familiar with the miniwax stuff so I dont know if it is comparable.

Many of the US finishing products are hard to get. There are a few exceptions, but in general I would say that it isnt worth paying a fortune to get or stressing too much. there is generally an equivalent that is fairly readily available. it can be frustrating when watching or reading something that recommends a certain product that we cant get!

Candle wax. Just scribble it on every now and then. 1 candle can last years.

Bees wax also works. You can make it more malliable by mixing it with an oil (melt gently in in a microwave and mix in the oil 3 or 4 parts oil to wax - I use olive oil, but whatever floats your boat). I have also used a liberon floor wax, because it's what I had to hand. Smells nice...
