I have a piece of 1" thick, bottom of a bole, from somewhere near the middle of the tree. There's some lovely figure near the root ball, But I doubt it would laminate unless you book-matched it. But I guess 1" isn't thick enough anyhow! Shame really. I'll have to re-saw it for veneers. :?
