as to what to do with it - do you turn ? if so it would make a great hollow form, or cut into two bowl blanks

or are you into flatwork only ? - in which case tyour best might be to plank it on the bandsaw (making a cradle jig first to stop it rolling and buggering up your blade)
 
Hi BSM Thanks for the pic post. I have a lathe but wouldn't call myself a turner. I did think about the cradle jig and planking. Maybe try to make a nice box, and I want some walnut dowels from the offcuts to use as a contrast to the oak in another project.
I've never worked with walnut before. It will be interesting to work with a new wood type.
