Difficult to give comparative advice when Silverdrive seem so disinterested.

I honestly don't think you need a rotary converter. (Although looking at bay prices £500 seems not at all bad but still a lot of wonga - depends what you would of paid for the motor change.)

A static transwave will do the job and as I said before is easily converted to rotary if you ever wanted to run more than one machine with a radically lower power rating than your Wadkin.

well although silverdrive pretty ignorant if their imo inverter/converter will do the job ill just get that its only £280, £500 quid is alot of money even if it is cheap for a rotary and added to this im guessing it will use more electricity and make more noise.

Nev, is your existing motor 'Dual Voltage'? (Star/Delta capable)

If you are thinking of running it on 415V from a convertor Do check on Standards compliance, due to the nature of 'electronic' methods of generating the 415 volt supply from a single phase some units are not approved for use on domestic supplies without also installing appropriate filters etc. to prevent harmonic interference from feeding back into the public system or even your own household equipment.

There are 415v units about that have been 'modified' by third parties from 240v units.

Also have a look at These People (Transwave) before settling on a supplier, I've always found them very helpful.

Notes on their site regarding inverter interference

I been speaking to peter at transwave for a few weeks now, and researching converters inverters for past 3 months along with all the advice given from these guys. Also been speaking to a guy who has the converter I wish to use.
Thanks for advice
