I'm sure this has been asked before but please indulge me if you can with any personal experience! :)

I have both a Versachuck and a couple of Clubmans for use on different sized lathes (I find the Versachuck limits the DBC on my Jet 1014). Have never had problems with any of them; the fact that the Axi jaws can also be used on the Versachuck is a good cost saving also.
If you want a good look at a Versachuck then 'pop' up to the Toolpost in Didcot and try one out.

I've had my Versachuck for over a year now. I'm not sure I'd recommend it myself now, unless budget was a very major concern or you have a particularly obscure headstock thread.
See the thread at versachuck-a-good-choice-t78022.html?hilit=versachuck for more details.

In use over the last year I've found the following issues:
The plain steel body can show rust rather easily in my unheated workshop, the stainless steel Axminster models would have been a better choice.
The ability to slow down or manually rotate the chuck via the large rear part by hand is useful, if poor practice, and wouldn't be so easy on the Clubman, but OK on the SK114.
Axminster's own jaws are far better made, finished and cheaper too than Toolpost's own agricultural jaws. Get Axminster jaw carriers and buy all the actual jaws from Axi if you do buy a Versachuck.
The nicely rounded ends on the jaw carriers of the Axminster chucks would be less likely to draw blood on accidental contact.
Axminster's customer service is much better than Toolpost's if you are unlucky enough to have problems.

I have no idea about the clubman but my versa chuck has been money well spent
I think I have had it 7 years and. It's been faultless
I have six sets of jaws that that can be swapped in 2or3 minutes
Very satisfied user

As for your comment about customer support, toolpost stand out as exemplary in my experience I do have the advantage of being able to visit the shop and all the staff are very knowledgable and friendly.
