Varnishing over another finish

I've made a jewelry box from Maple and Sapele, which I've finished with satin Osmon Polyx.

It looks a little uninspired !

Would there be an issues with using spray varnish over the top.?

if by spray varnish you mean stuff like aerosol car paint lacquer then no, just make sure the osmo has had time to fully cure

If you want more lustre to your finish, wait until the Osmo has hardened then give it a wire wool '0000' and then paste wax and buff.
