Hello,
I'm making a 2-storey 8' x 6' playhouse in 5x2 timber. I've completed the 'downstairs' framing and sheathing and am now trying to design the top floor.
I intend to make the roof as steeply pitched as possible for aesthetics.. around (50 degrees). The roof will be covered in box profile metal sheet.
My thought was to build a sturdy truss for each end gable and 3 or 4 rafters in between supporting a ridge beam (to facilitate a 50cm overhang).
Q1. Does steep roof pitch affect this idea?
Q2. Is it permissible/advisable to use a mix of truss and rafter on a roof design?
Q3. How best to attach/support the ridge beam?
I've struggled to find anything online that discusses ridge beams at any length so any links gratefully received!
Many thanks.
