UK Violin making Tonewood

Hi all

I wondered if anybody knew of any uk violin tonewood suppliers. I have started a college course making my first violin and I need to get two sets not looking for anything too fancy at this stage as I am just a beginner.

Was going to suggest exotic hardwoods as well, also these guys Violin Tonewood - Touchstone Tonewoods
I have purchased some super nice Sycamore from Tyler hardwoods before but you might have to buy a board, they probably have spruce too.

If you have always considered making one and have the means to do so I’d say go for it. There is a great YouTube series on making one at home with minimal tools which is my approach as I don’t have a workshop or many tools out of college and you really don’t need much to make a violin. The biggest thing you’ll need is patience! Everything else can be acquired quite easily and reasonably priced if you go second hand!
