Spent a couple of hours last night being enjoyably distracted from my search for a UK made wheel gauge - I'm sure I saw a link on the site? It was a LN lookalike, for less £ and I think made in stainless. Could some kind soul please point me in the right direction? Does anyone know how it compares with the original? Thanks in anticipation!

I use and enjoy the Veritas, (don't know what it sells for in Britain) but I think Rob Lee should take note of the special cutters for marking mortises, that is a good idea.

Thanks for the link, George! Has anyone seen a Sureline gauge? It certainly looks like a Titemark for 20 quid less, but still a 'needs careful consideration' price.

hi i've got an axminster one at £13 i think its ok only thing is the bloody great allen screw holding the wheel on
suppose you cant expect to much for £13 quid :p

i'd say make your own wooden one, nice piece of walnut or something similar .

think we all got a bit of the tool tart in us he he he :D
