If the image is accurate and not some sort of mirrored photo, this bench appears to have been designed for left-handed people.
For right-handed woodworkers, the face vice is typically on the left-hand side, with the tail vice positioned at the opposite end.

The front vice can go on the opposite side, so if you turn the whole bench around, it would then be on the left hand side.

Two years ago, my “workbench” was an UJK Compact Multifunction on top of my kitchen table. Today I have a dedicated workshop with a traditional workbench but the UJK lives on top of it. It’s so practical and useful that I can’t see myself without it. However, its usefulness is directly related to the precision and alignment of the dog holes, the tracks. I am not sure this new hybrid bench would maintain the alignment and precision throughout the seasons.
If I was starting again today I think I would repeat my setup of a traditional workbench plus the Compact Multifunction that I can put on top as needed.

I have the compact mft and it’s one of my best purchases this year . ..

Hi,
I have to say that over the last few years or so, I have bought a lot of ujk branded items from Aximinster. So far every item has been top notch and very well made. Not had any issues at all and I have come to accept (as we all know) that in general you get what you pay for. I believe ujk is Axminsters own brand and mostly made (if not all) in the UK. Anyway, I personally like UJK stuff and so far have not been let down.

I already have the bigger brother of your MFT workbench as a stand alone bench, which is great. I may well be duplicating functionally with the Fusion bench and probably should make myself a solid hand tool bench like the lovely one in your photo.
It’s that age old problem, I have a long ‘to do’ list, which I could probably get through quicker if I took some time out to get my workshop set up properly, but I haven’t got time to do that!

Just received my order from Axminster for 4 1270 mm clamp guides at £48.28 each , a few £s cheaper than the trend version, the trend version which I have has started to play up so went for the ujk . I’ve also had several of their products that are well made and are going to most likely outlast me . I don’t mind paying a premium price for a quality product.
