Hi

I'm after a very small amount of Tyvek. I assume this is an American brand name for a Breathable Membrane?

I just need a couple of metres for an experiment. Anyone know where I can get such a small amount?

Cheers

Hi tom

by membrian you mean breathable building paper ?

I got some, pm me your address and i'll post some on to you early later in the week if thats ok .hc

Thanks HC.

I just need a paper that lets moisture out and not in. Not for building purposes. I assume all breathable membrane is similar?

Cheers

I've got the end of a roll of building paper as well, if you want a bit you're welcome.

Careful chaps......you're talking at cross purposes.

Tyvek is a vapour permeable but water-proof membrane (think Goretex jacket). It isn't the only one on the market, but is probably the market leader. It is a very long way from a building paper, which is a bit vapour permeable, and not very water resistant, and tears (Tyvek is tough as old boots). Each have their place.

Tom, what are you planning to do with this stuff? PM me if you want to keep that a bit quiet....

Secret Squirrells eh :D

Nope not Secret Squirrel. In fact quite mundane.

I read an article where Tyvek was used to store unseasoned roughed out bowls. It was very positive and I thought I'd try it. I realise that people may find this a little OTT, which is why I just want to try it with a couple of bags against normal brown paper. My own experiment to quench my own curiosity.
