im just setting up my wood turning workshop in my girlfriends shed, i need to get jigs for tool grinding - what ones should I get? I am on a budget but dont really fancy making my own unless it is easy and will work just as well.

techically you dont need any of the fancy jigs - for my first eight years i just used the tilting tables on the grinder - and these days i use the 20 quid axminster grinding rest.

personally i'd advise learning to sharpen free hand like this because its a lot quicker to do and therefore you are more likely to sharpen your tools as soon as they need it rather than putting it off because you dont want to faff arround setting up jigs mid job

thats great, i was hoping someone would say that! save me a bit a money! - do you have a link to axe minster website for that rest? - i can only find one for 41 pounds

thanks
