Trimming foil faced door

I would ideally like to trim about 3mm off the long edge of an Ikea wardrobe door which I believe is foil faced? My concern is any longer term 'unravelling' or peeling on the trimmed edge and it looking unsightly. Anyone know what the options are for this sort of door?

I can't adjust hinges any more and trimming really is the only long term option I can think of.

You can cut it and then lip with matching hardwood and it’s fine, if it’s chipboard, not so easy if it’s cardboard waffle filled hardboard
