It too makes a buzzing sound, but there's not really a way round that other than to mount the motor/fan away from the head like one of the belt mounted ones.

The fan noise can still be heard from the Waist Mounted units through the hose connection, not so intrusive though, low enough when working to wonder sometimes if it's still running and then realise there's no fogging so must be.
