My Auntie bought me a carpentry kit for my birthday when i was a kid :D As we lived in a park at the time i had lots of wood to make tree houses etc but ooohhh no , i had the kit taken away from me after i was caught sawing a park bench in half
That was my first experience of working with Teak .

Now Jason I know why you shoot wood across the workshop but with your training from Auntie you should not scream!!!
Good luck with the saw.

Enjoy it while you can,Colin.
My son is 16 now,and interested in woodwork (because they are not allowed to actually do anything at school, incase anyone hurts themselves  )but not interested enough to join in :(
If the next generation carry on like that, then there will be no woodworkers left,so nurture him and hope he develops a real interest.

Exellent sentiment powertool. Sad when you see these beat up old emir bench's and record vice's on ebay thrown out of schools for H&s reasons. They seem more intent to learn them multi cultural sociol ethicks though, plenty of time for that  . No woodwork, no sport what are schools coming to??? bloody dreary I'd say!
As you may know my boy has certain developement issues (eg he cannot speak, he is autistic) but I made him a 1/2 size bench and some small saws and planes, hammer, set square etc (no sharp blades) He has his own little tool belt as well. 8) 8) He can hammer pegs in, mark square across the wood; Actually using each tool has helped his gross and fine motor co ordination; he's made simple floors from offcuts, models of rafters etc In fact he's started earning some pocket money hes a good board sorter and stacker.

Now that reminds me of my first tool kit Jason. My auntie also bought it for me but I had it taken away when I attempted to cut the leg of my Grandmothers chair! We live and learn.

Thanks for the tip Powertool and I have to agree with you about the schools, as I think it ill be hard to get some of the kids into woodwork.

I can see some of the woodwork trades coming close to dieing off :(.

I want to know what the "realistic sound effects" are.....

"Bang! Bang! BANG! Ow! That ****ing hurt!! Ba$*ard hammer! OW! OW!!!"

"NO!! I can't believe it! I've just spent two hours on this and I've made it too short. Oh s*** b***** %$!**&%^^$***... Sob, sob, sob."

I mean, it is supposed to be an educational toy, isn't it? Any educationalists out there who might care to suggest other sounds?
