Free timber :-

1)A mate of mine bought a very small house with a very large, very overgrown garden - I acquired a holly tree and a cherry tree that are currently seasoning prior to going on my lathe.
2)A haulier that I deal with at work has a mate who owns a timber yard, supplying timber for trailer beds and chocks, and timber to the local docks - so I get offcuts whenever I want them :D
3)A cleaning station I deal with in South Wales cleans out containers that are dry-lined (plastic sheet held in place with timber),and no-one ever wants the timber back - this has provided 65mm x 65mm hardwood,90mm x 90mm softwood,70mm x 90 mm hardwood,6mm ply in 7' x 3' sheets,9mm ply in 8' x 4' sheets........all collected for me by the haulier from item 2  (and delivered to my house in his van)
4)Still working on 4...

As the old saying goes,"it's not what you know,it's who you know"

Andrew
I am NOT at all jealous  ( yeh right who am I kidding )
I am glad it does not go to wast

For me wood

Well mainly for 2 reasons, I don't need many more tools, and since I've just given up the day job I'm not as flush as I used to be so buying a better large/more functional machine to replace a working one, is just not very defendable these days

Mind you those american guide rails recently posted are very very tempting!!

Do we have one more :-k :)

You might just have Colin! I am a Festool man but I actually find the Festool rail system not ideal (I don't have one but have used one) I prefer it when the tool pate cannot lift upwards from the rail as it can with the Festool. This seems to fit that bill and a lot more, and I'm off to the US in a week or so so no worries on post nor taxes.

Youlucky so and so as if you are getting it from the US is is a real bargin but I think you might have it a little wrong as you can lift the tool plate up, so you can do stopped cuts.
This is if I have understood you right :)
