Hello, I'm visiting London later this year and i would like to utilize this visit for buying some good vintage and new hand tools.
On my last visit I went to the flea market near Old Town, but it was mostly junk.
are there any recommended markets or shop in London for used and new quality tools?

Thanks a lot, Omer.

Hi Omer, What kind of tools are you interested in? I presume when you say Old Town you mean Old Street. Quite near to there is a shop called Tyzaks (the last remaining part of an old tool making family although no longer owned by the Tyzak family), the post code is E2. It is OK for new tools as is Toucan Toucan Tools in E10 and Tooled Up EN3.
I'm afraid that to my knowledge there are no decent second hand tool shops in London I can recommend and I have lived there most of my life and regularly buy old tools, mostly via ebay and car boot sales. These guys might be of interest to you, but I don't think he has a shop front http://hackneytools.com/

I'd recommend D&M tools and ITS way ahead of Tooled up! Prices in there are criminal.

Really depends what it is you're after and how far your happy to travel as a train or hire car out to High Wycome would be it for a visit to Axminster

Some truth in that, but they are 5 minutes drive from my dock so they often get my custom.

Tyzacks are good when your desperate for that one certain drill bit or bottle of glue, and they are only 5 mins away, and they do stock quite a decent selection of quality hand tools veritas narex.

You are probably better off looking online. Workshop heaven has a great range and the owner is a member on here. For old tools you are a rather limited in terms of market stalls and shops as any shop like that is miles away from London.
