I'm looking for specification info about Tonk bookcase strips. In particular the recommended max loading the steel and brass strips.

Just spent a frustrating hour or so googling Tonk but just can't identify the manufacturer. (I presume Tonk is an actual brand and not generic term!)

Anyone know who really manufacturers Tonk ?

Thanks,

Just found this
but it says "Owing to variations in shelving and cabinet materials it is recommended that a shelf at the base of the cabinet is test loaded to
the maximum anticipated loading per shelf before putting loads on the higher shelves."

I have made floor to ceiling bookcases with similar brass strips from Veneered MDF. The book cases are about 3' wide and the strips were recessed into the sides.

I have had many shelves of heavy reference books on them and I have never had any problem with the strips.
