OT.

I love this place! A thread on how to cut kindling! It's also useful for anyone who is asking advice about the "right" way to do something. Even something as ancient and straight forward as chopping firewood produces a variety of answers using a variety of tools - there ain't no such thing as the right way to do anything.

Though there is, of course, the wrong way to do things...
 
Just spotted this.
I use a bill hook - chopped a months worth of sticks ( no posh kindling in this house!) on Saturday pm.
My raw material is old window frames from my neighbour's (double glazing fitter) waste heap.

Warms me several times:
Barrowing it home
Cutting up with chainsaw
Chopping
the warm glow of it not going to landfill
and the even warmer glow of summat for nowt :roll:
 
I was only half joking when I suggested the bandsaw. It does look like fun. But not something I could/would get involved with personally ;)
