I think that I shall ask my better half to leave a note on here if I should unexpectedly go for an extended play in the great workshop in the sky, where tales of sharpening are forever banned.
Or maybe it’s in the other workshop down below where sharpening never stops, ever finer and finer grits. Dear heaven save me from that.

This thread reminds me how I am often saddened when I wield a second hand tool and think of the hands of those that used it before me. Particularly poignant are the tools that I know only went on sale on the death of their owner. I think of the Bill who owned my tool chest before me when I open it. I can only hope that I use the tools in a way that the previous owners would approve of. I'm proud that in a very small way I am part of the many who continue the craft of those who have gone before us.
