I am thinking of making some more endgrain chopping boards, the last time I did some I used Titebond 3, which is quite expensive compaired to Everbuild glue, has any one got any feedback on the Everbuild 502, the Everbuild 502 is 5 litre and the Titebond is only 3.8 litre, so a much better deal, if it is okay, they do take a lot of glueing and cutting and more glueing

Thank you all for your help, I will try Everbuild D4 as it might be better for chopping boards, I know of one woman who put one in the dishwasher, the 1 litre bottle is £12 on Amazon, I get free delivery with Prime, and £15.28 at Toolstation

If you looking at Everbuild 502 V Titebond 3 you would be suprised to find that they actually come out very similar in that the characteristics of both in relation to water and glue strength is about the same however Titebond 3 is not recommended for structural use Everbuild 502 can be used for structural applications.

Everbuils 4D can be immersed in water and should still hold up it can also be used for structural work so could be your best bet if you are really concerned. The stated shelf life of Everbuild D4 is 6 months, it's the same for all similar D4 wood glues because of the modifiers used to reach the D4 standard.

Everbuild 502 for everday use like general joinery cabinet making etc or Everbuild D4 for extreme weather conditions where prolonged water contact is expected. Everbuild 502 (D3 grade with one year stated shelf life) Everbuild D4 (D4 grade with six months stated shelf life).

Thank's for that lesson, I will try D4 for outside work and chopping boards and D3 for interior work, I have been using Titebond 2 and 3 for years now but it is getting more expensive, and maybe Everbuild is just as good

I use Everbuild D4 for almost everything. Not let me down yet even when it’s slightly out of date. (Note I am not using it in a professional capacity).
