Tiger skin pattern wood.

Not my plane, just found this on the internet. The grain looks amazing, like a tiger. What wood is it?

looks like Australian silky oak? just a guess.

Whatever it is, that's a great example of how one piece of wood can look very plain on one surface and fiery wild on another.

I think that's some kind of lacewood like London plane or Aussie silky oak. It's a very pronounced piece whatever it is!
