I am hoping someone might be able to help with some information relating to a White jointer that I recently bought here in New Zealand.
I am slowly accumulating some quality older type machines to replace some flimsy modern gear that bought to get started. So far I have a Wadkin RS 8 lathe, a Wadkin DR 30" bandsaw
a DeWalt RS 14' radial arm saw and now this White jointer.
It is easy to download information about the Wadkin and DeWalt machines but information about the White PH is proving to be a lot more challenging.
It has a 5 HP Newman induction motor, 460 mm wide tables that are raised and lowered by a parallelogram system and is 1850 mm long. The entire chassis is cast iron.
Does anyone have, or know of, any form of manual for this machine?
Thanks Graham

Graham,
I vaguely recall that White machinery was built in the USA.

I suggest a look at OWWM.org and vintagemachinery.org. The later being a database of US manufacturers and machines.

Hi Graham.

It's only a "Quick Reference Catalogue" but next time you drive down SH1, stop at the Timber Museum just south of Putaruru. They've got this in their "safe".

And the only page I photographed...

Thanks so much for this.
It's great that this has come from another Kiwi and even better that I know sort of know a bit about Vann thanks to his contributions on a separate post.
Cheers
