hi all

it is in holland , i have driven there many times as my daughter lives there and there standard of driving on motorways is very poor they all seem to drive like bats out of hell and right on the tail of other all the time , i dread travelling in cars being driven by my son in law who is dutch , When we fly over i'm bloody happy to get to her house and get out the car.

as in any country on motorways when approaching and exit or enter slip at junctions especially after you passed the exit road you know just a short way down the road there is an entry slip road with more than a possibility of traffic flowing on to the motorway which you have to allow for ie: as you approach the enter road your supposed to signal manoeuver over into the next lane to allow entry for the traffic flowing onto the motorway , this was clearly seen not to happen in the video only after the police officer signal them todo so .

in the video it clearly show an exit road being used from the start of the video so all the driver knew there was an entry road ahead of them which from the exit road is clearly visible non of them attempted to use the correct manoeuver , they all contributed to that accident , very poor standard of driving .hc

According to the news paper, the officer has a back injury, severe concussion and a broken jaw. No life threatening injuries.

IMHO both the cop and the yellow car driver are at fault, and the lorry driver deserves a medal.

The outrider was stupid to stop in direct line of the lorry as (1) He was putting his life on the line in the hope that the driver could change lanes in time, and (2) he never allowed for an ***** driver or two tailgating the lorry who would have had no chance of seeing him in time if the lorry had driven further before it managed to change lanes.
As it happens the lorry driver did a great job of tapping his brakes to slow him down before moving to the outside lane.

The muppet in the yellow car must have been extremely short sighted, fiddling with his CD, or talking on the phone, because as you will see from the video he makes no effort to avoid the cop until the very last second when he swerves a bit. Yet the car in front of him manages to change lanes in time.

I can see the point of others who say that he was trying to make way for the ambulance, but he had time to let the lorry go past before he stopped on the road.

In the end because of this accident the ambulance had to stop anyway.

The good news is the officer never died. I wonder if the yellow car driver was nicked?

Cheers

Mike

hi guys

this arrived today from my daughter in holland , this is what really caused that crash nearly nearly killing the police officer , in the video link that was originally supplied it stopped to quick. see the hole link below .

hi dad

He did survive.
Not sure if your film shows the whole picture though. Try watching this one, click on the link below. Whether the officer handled the traffic properly or not is not the only question - was the guy in the SEAT too busy looking at the OTHER side of the road (like everyone does in an accident) and not in front of him!

hi matt

nosy drivers , we all do it , if they had paid more attention to what was happening in there own lane that cop would have been fine . hc

Makes the guy in the Seat an even bigger moron. Knowing that a serious incident has happened surely you are on the lookout for emergency services?
