thin ply

Where do people get the thin ply from, been looking around, seems expensive. been trying to find largest sheet, working on the larger sheet will work out cheaper. 3.6mm no problem, can get 8x4ft sheet local builder merchants, just thinner than that.

Model/craft shops usually stock up to 3mm but the largest I've even seen stocked in one is 1' x 4' (1.2m x 300mm)

It may or may not help but lawcris in Leeds keep 1.5mm in big sheets. 8x4 I think.

But I doubt they will deliver one sheet let alone as far as you are.

The builders merchant stuff may not be as good as you imagine. It may be general purpose and full of voids.

Lavers stock 1.6mm birch ply... (5' x 5') ...school calls it 'aeroply' ...it bends easily and looks great on finished products.
