Threads like this really frustrate me. Just because BB and Woodbloke got a bit of a telling off for baiting people on http://www.woodworkuk.co.uk/forum/ they slag it off. This probably puts other people off visiting the "other side" which is a bit of a shame really as it's a complementary forum to this one, it just lacks a bit of the pretentiousnous and snobbery that seems to have developed over here in the last few years.

There is a lot more history than that... i dont know all of it and little would be served by going into it again anyway , but suffice to say that the various opinions both good and bad of "the other side" have far mnore foundation than just rob and bb being told off over there.

I originally posted the thread asking if anyone knew why the other site was down. I didn't want it to develop into a slanging match.

We now know the answer that the site got hacked so could one of the mods please lock this thread?

Snap I agree with Roger. This boil, sore or pus filled wound comes up every now and again, and for those of us that were witness to the trouble and as in my case may have even stuck their big nose into the fray, are fed up of hearing about our mistakes. Whether right or wrong, and with some regret sides were taken. But that was in the past and it seems that they are happy over there, we are happy here, and A HELL OF A LOT of members are happy both here and there. So lets change the subject and give both them and us a break.
