There's a man who watches Norm! Nice space!

Wish I was young again.

I could start collecting again, but you need to do a bit of work in the garden.

Hope all goes well.

I was just thinking the same! Looking very good there. The sliding carriage arrangement on the newer 619 seems to be quite an improvement over mine, my carriage slides over the table so you lose 1cm almost of cutting height from the blade

There is a reason for the garden mess, currently building an extension on the house so garden full of blocks mixers and sand

The sliding carridge was a bit of a pain to setup but once done it cuts perfect 90 degs

Only thing i dont like about the 619 is the fence i find it very sloppy i have to check it for square everytime i use it more for peace of mind as i dont trust it

DO you know of any upgrades to the fence? would love an inca fence but cant get anyone to ship one to the uk amazon wont rockler wont

I have to hold my hands up i have watched all 21 seasons of the Great man himself, he did give me the confidence to take the plunge and try making furniture.

Yep, that's a great space! Looks like you will have hours of fun there? The only thing I would suggest is to paint the walls white which will make the space really bright and it will be like extra lighting for free (well almost). That's what I did in my workshop and it really makes a difference cos I have few windows/natural light.

Anyway, thanks for sharing, looking good.

cheers

Call me tight, but got that planned was thinking of building all the cabinets etc first then whatever space i got left paint it white that way will only have to paint about a 1/3rd of it. Also got to plasterboard the ceiling once ive finished installing the duct work and rest of the 16A supplies

Nope, not tight, it all adds up! Paint is not cheap. I just hope you dont get paint over everything after all that hard work putting the rest of the place together!

It's a lot of work but worth it in the end. I painted my double garage white and then fitted a floating floor (chipboard on top of 1inch of polystyrene) and these 2 things have made it excellent to work in.

Look forward to seeing your final photos...

cheers

I will be making sure everything is covered as i go, i have been thinking about the floor currently just painted concrete and standing on this for 8 - 10 hours a day can get a bit painful, either get some machine mats or raise the floor with some 1" celotex and 18mm ply not sure which route to take yet

Done alot more today, put more of the old kitchen units on the walls and created a sharpening station. I have been hand sharpening for years with a small japanesse wet stone, recently purchased a secondhand tiger 2500 and this has made life so much easier and quicker and the results are fantastic.

Also finished most of the electrics today, installed the 16mm 3 core armoured cable (has just been tempory on wall last few months) slightly better than the 1mm cable the previous owner had running out to the garage, makes me wonder how some people are still alive messing with electrics like that. had to install another consumer unit in the house to split the house supply and garage supply just a small 2 way unit with 2 60a breakers so if anything happens out the garage it wont affect the house supply.

Tomorrows job, or todays job looking at the time will be insulating the joists and plaster boarding the ceiling just to reflect more of the light towards the machines

Will post some more pics tonight keep you updated on progress

16a supplies for table saw and joiner installed, all 8 flourescents fitted sockets installed on both sides of garage protected in 25mm conduit i just need to test the electrics and issue myself a certificate
