The minor coronet lathe how to change the v-belt

Can anyone help with changing the drive belt on a coronet The minor wood turning lathe

You have to remove the spindle.

If you buy a t link belt you may find you do not need to remove the spindle. Just cut whatever old belt is on there and loop the t link one round, add an remove links until it's the right length.

I have a Minor that after buying some years ago has been carefully stored (put in corner of garage) and having found this thread Im now tempted to put a few of the accessories in place and give it a whirl. Mines on the original Post Office Red cabinet

Probably 50 years since I had one, but from memory, taking out the mainshaft was a doddle.
