Many thanks for you kind replies, I will post another photo as soon as i have taken it or i might bring it to the bash.

Inside is a lined base and a pen holder, very simple indeed.

Boards are edge jointed with a spline, not sure if I needed a spline but......

Thats a great looking box, did you spalt the timber yourself or did you obtain it in that state? Can't say I've ever seen any spalted sycamore for sale around these parts.
