While turning this found some cracks in the wood. So used it as a practice piece using the Robert Sorby RS200KT tool and some burning

Will try another as soon as I can get out to the man in the wood
 
Yes, that works well for me too ... I like it... 'Crack's' maybe add character - so its perhaps one not to be dismissed too quickly ! ... it's a nice piece and from the photo, looks like it may be worth putting a nice finish on .

not now cut off the mounting spigot may try to cut a new one and lose a little off the bottom or I could return a new one and hollow other end to look like this
