I've just been to the market and saw the longest "tenon" saw I've ever seen - I didn't get the chance to measure it but the blade must have been two feet long. Steel backed, with four chromed screws it had a pattern on the handle very similar to a newer Disston D8. Quite clean but no etching that I could see. I'll try to get a picture next week if it's still there. It was up for £15 .......... I can't buy more tools, I haven't room now. Is there a name for this type of saw?
