Nasty, hope you make a full recovery and no sensation is lost in the end of your thumb!

Just remember, it could have been a lot worse, it could have been my thumb

Thanks guys, I'm still amazed how little trouble it's causing me and very little pain, just a slight throb, I've had more troublesome splinters.
I suspect when it starts to dry up it will cause more trouble.

Yes it will, I routed the tips of 3 fingers - first 2 or 3 days were just a dull ache and throb. When they had healed a bit and the spikey bits of skin had hardened they became quite painful to use. It heals up pretty quick tho so wont be bad for long... comparatively.

I sliced my finger good and proper with a Stanley knife years ago, everything healed fine but it now feels the cold before my other fingers and is therefore now referred to as my thermo finger. (At what point are you going to tell us it was the dogs fault Bob?)

Bob,
It just goes to show that anyone can come a cropper, no matter how experienced they are.
Just be careful, that dog of yours will be wanting to lick your wounds, he'll eat anything that's going.
I wish you a speedy recovery.

Ouch! Unlucky bob. Nasty injury but it looks like it'll heal quite well.

I guess we'll all go through similar accidents at some point, just need to do what we can to avoid them as long as possible!

That reminds me I was going to look for a good push block...

Definately a good reminder to me.

I got a nick on an index finger from a powering down electric hand planer last year. I couldn't believe it (for about 0.5 seconds) that I had allowed that to happen.

Hope it heals OK for you.

AHHHH Nasty ,Hope you have punished the saw for biting you . Beating it with a large stick Basil Faulty style would be my choice . Hope you recover quickly and it dosent give you too much grief, take it easy Bern.

I'm taking daily pics at the moment so i'll paste them all up in 10 weeks to show the healing process.
