Man landing on the Moon....EG NASA. All of the modern technology we have nowadays really stems from this. It is not just the electronics but also things like the heat resistant tiles, seating, lubrication, almost most things we take for granted now. :wink:

It's not really the case, that's why.

I mean, Apollo had been flying rockets since 1968, if nothing else, but the technology behind it was all tried out on earlier programmes. IIRC seats were developed for Gemini, which first flew in 1965 - and of course, the actual inventing had to have happened well in advance, probably sometime in the early sixties. That's why, in the photos of the control centre for the moon landings, you can see people sat down!
