Does anyone else use an alternative to tapatalk on their Android smartphone? Imho tapatalk use to be great but I now find I only read stuff using an outdated version and if I want to post a picture ( via tapatalk ) I need to switch to the newer crapper version.

I've never seen the need for Tapatalk or any equivalent. I find it perfectly straightforward to read the forum in a web browser (Android browser or Chrome or Firefox) and use ordinary copy and paste to add links or pictures. What is the problem that the app is supposed to solve?

It allows you to browse the forum when you haven't got very good Internet access. Instead of loading an entire Web browser page, full of unnecessary guff it skips straight to plain text making loading pages much quicker when you haven't got WiFi. Uploading a pic use to be as simple as replying to normal thread then just a few clicks and its also automatically attached a picture either straight from camera or phone album. Main advantage was the clarity and speed of use. When time was limited, tapatalk got straight to the point without waiting for other stuff to load or having to zoom in on the page.
I'll give the android browser another try, ta.

I use Tapatalk all the time and very rarely use my computers for accessing Forums.

It sorts out all unread posts which you can skim over as necessary.
Posting photos is since - a great App

I preferred the older versions of tapatalk and struggle a little bit with the current version but thats probably just because I haven't focused enough on it yet I suspect.

For example, if I/ look at the unread posts on a forum, is there an easy way to mark them all as read at the same time, or do I have to actually open each one to do so? /i assume it is the former but can't see how ?!

Any other user tips or tutorials for the slow on the uptake kind of users as it doesn't seem as intuitive as it used to be ? :)

Cheers, Paul

Paul, if you click the 3 vertical dots icon (top righthand side) it gives the option to mark all as read. The most annoying thing with the new version is it doesn't specify how many unread posts there are. So if I've got 3 minutes spare , whilst a lorry drivers unstrapping timber for example I've no idea how long I can spend reading replying to every post.
Quite often I only have minutes at a time spare a day and tapatalk use to make it very efficient to browse the forum.

It wasn't broke, there was no need to fix it- Imho they spoiled a really good app
