If any forumites are planning on going on holiday soon and would like to take their pet falcon. You can stop fretting now as Etihad Airlines allow you to take it into the cabin with you. The following snippet was taken from their web page when trying to work out whether I can take my windsurfing gear on the flight

General information
Etihad Airways accepts the carriage of falcons and guide dogs to lead the blind in the main aircraft cabin provided that all the necessary health documents and important licenses have been obtained.

Any other animals must travel as cargo and are not permitted within the aircraft cabin or checked baggage.

• Falcons are accepted in the cabin also.
• Guide dogs to lead the blind are permitted in the aircraft cabin for flights from Abu Dhabi to USA and vice versa only provided necessary documents are provided. However they may only be accepted as checked baggage free of charge. (Please contact local Etihad Airways office for detailed information).

I wonder if Indian Airlines would allow me to take my pet cow on board

Cool...where are you going windsurfing? What board have you got? My favourite place is Vassiliki...

I assume that is you mid backloop and Shove It. If so, I am not worthy!

The Wife has given me permission to go on a 4 week road trip to escape the awful January weather and really fancy driving up the West Coast of Aus and visiting the spots.

Failing that, I have always fancied going to Boa Vista.

Looking for a partner in crime if you fancy it!

As to boards. I chop and change them like the weather. My favourite board is my F2 Rebel 68. When it's blowing hard <4.5m weather it is.

My local spot is kimmeridge. Yours?

Only in Vassiliki now. Warm weather sailor. Still got my steamer though and have been known to be out Dec 27th on the local tiny inland pond (lake is too grand).

Wow.....four weeks..... think I have enough BA miles to fly comfy class to Oz

Just say the word Roger and we can get those flights booked. You know it makes sense ;-)

I just read out loud your "The Wife has given me permission to go on a 4 week road trip to escape the awful January weather" and SWMBO simply declared 'NO'. :(
Having said that I am off for a boys weekend away tomorrow....Newcastle....

Is it just me who misread the bit about " falcons and guide dogs to lead the blind"? I know Falcons have good eyesight but I'm not sure I would trust one to lead me down to the shops......

Considering that baggage holds are not heated in modern passenger aircraft, this would worry me a little....
