I posted a question regarding my Electra Bekum PK200 table saw abruptly stopping. Many people offered advice. Thank you all. The problem was a collapsed bearing. I've stripped and replaced both the motor bearings. It's back up and running. I am now an expert on striping and reassembling PK200's. Thanks again. If anyone needs a bearing supplier. theres a company in Lichfield. Fantastic. two new motor bearings under a fiver.

Glad to hear you got everything sorted.

You did the right thing by buying bearings from a bearing factor rather than the tool manufacturer,

I've srtipped and repaired countless mechanical devices involving bearings and in every case they have been standard parts obtainable from bearing factors - there is at least one in most towns.

For some reason list price of bearings is high but discounts start at 50% maybe because they are made in huge quantities.

So the moral for anyone needing bearings for refurbishing tools. Look up bearing factors in yellow pages or buy online from a firm like Arc eurotrade who offer modern metric bearing as well as imperial dimension bearings for older tools.
