Great news! I am sure it will make turning a lot easier for you.
I look forward to seeing the results. Happy new lathe :eek:ccasion5: !

ahhhhh Well done Steve. I do like that lathe. Tho I think I'd spend an abnormal amount of time trying to get it to stop beeping or on the other hand I might try to get it to play chopsticks ;)

Well done Steve
Life will be a whole lot easier now with the variable speed.
When will you be receiving it :?:

Good choice Steve. I bought that lathe last year, and love it. I't will really improve your turning. Are you getting the out rigger with it?. The only 2 problems i have with it are the price of buying a bed extension, and the stand can't be bolted to the floor, but the latter is only a problem when you have a very large off center piece on the lathe. There is a nice heavy feel to the Nova.
Happy turning

You clever so-an-so Steve, I bought the 1624-44. and while its perfect for me at my age and what I want to achieve,If I were you I would have done exactly as you have. When you dont see many secondhand ones for sale you know you are on the right track . Best of turning with it my friend, may you have lots of happy hours togeather. REgards Boysie

You`ll love it Steve, it`s a great lathe, you`ll get many happy hours of turning on it. Well done fella.

When are you expecting delivery? You may need a lift in, i struggled carrying mine.

hi guys
i am soooo pleased i ordered it, it is coming from D&M tools who had a great offer on it, and what with the ISA not making any extra, hey why not.
what you get is
lathe
legs
outrigger
delivery
Nova II chuck
all for £1500 squidleys

They say delivery is sometime in the next 10 days, which doesn't give me long to re-jig the cabin, i was hoping to add a vacum system of some sorts in there as well.

Doug you are banned mate  its all your fault..
but i may just require your services when i have to move it
