I recently finished this job. All mrmdf, sprayed in Morrells 20% sheen water based. The gap between the two towers is for a sofa.

Not sure why there's a duplicate image after i've signed off - checked the edit and there's nothing there....

Beautiful work =D> =D>

.....but the gap between the ceiling and the cornice moulding is bugging me, as though it originally went to the ceiling but then it shrunk. But that's just me, I don't mean it to be a criticism. Still, beautiful work

Yup, agreed, really VERY nice work (I didn't notice the gap until it was pointed out by the LP).

Sometimes I wonder why I look at some of this stuff - sometimes it makes me determined to do better, but other times I just feel like giving it all up and taking up crocheting or something!

Cheers guys.

In general i'm not a big fan of cornice running upto the ceiling - if the ceiling is out, what then? In this room (which is about 7 metres long) there was a deviance of about 50mm in the ceiling highs n lows.

AES - it might look daunting, but it's a really simple job - all mdf construction. Time intensive (all that bloody spraying!), but quite simple nonetheless.

Cheers

agree with everybody, that is so far above my pay grade. Think dishwasher (me) to bill gates (you).
But that gap.... I couldnt cope with that. I would have to fill it with something.

Lovely work - like the classic grey too. I thought I noticed a deviance in the ceiling, the picture with the two towers you can see it left side by the light fitting. Thing is... I'd have said the eye is drawn MORE to a gap deviation than a fillet deviation if it's plain with no detailing.

Other possibility could have been to add some led strips behind the cornicing on the sofa section to add a bit of ambient for watching TV etc. With that area having a sofa I might have thought about a couple of small shelves either side for a beverage of choice.

A plain "fillet" and no cornice detail would look crap. (haha - sweary editor - carp is what I meant).

I did discuss the idea of shelves in the sofa area, but the customer didn't want any. And she who pays the bills gets what the f she wants!

Cheers
