Hi
I'm complete novice at turning, a couple of years ago I bought a small Axminster Perform lathe, I used it once and put it away, now I've just got it out again to try my hand at turning a couple of knobs for a little cabinet I've just finished and the drive centre is stuck, any ideas how to remove it please?

Many thanks

Richard

Get a long dowel or bar of metal and poke it into the back end of the MT hole from the back (opposite end to the drive centre) and give it a little tap with a hammer. That will free it up and pop it out.

Rod

Edit 1. Oh yes... get ready with a third hand to catch it when it pops out.

Edit 2. Keep said rod or dowel handy on back of lathe bed for next time.
