Well, someone has to say it.

I find the whole tacky tabloid circus surrounding the impending demise of Jade Goody just a touch hypocritical. Certainly I wouldn't wish an early death on anyone and it IS good that awareness of the risks of cervical cancer has increased amongst young girls but....

...bottom line is that Jade Goody still is a gobby, racist, yobette and a few months ago the tacky tabloids were taking her to task for her racist outburst on Big Brother. However, with TackMeister Max Clifford milking it for all its' worth, it's now 'All hail Saint Jade'. Manipulation par excellence.

Turning to the question of her husband being allowed out as a special dispensation by Jack 'Hug Me' Straw, well, just about sums up how low this Govt has sunk. My reasoning is that I assume that there are guidelines for this sort of thing and that the Prison Governor was following them when he/she refused to let the husband stay out overnight. I'm also assuming that this also applies to anyone else in the same situation?? Assuming that these assumptions are valid then why does Ms Goody deserve 'special treatment'?

My kids tell me that her husband attacked a kid with a golf club. They also had to explain who Jade Goody was........but I still can't really understand how she has become famous.

Do you recall the woman who raised about £7,000 for her cancer-ridden daughter to send her on a "last chance" trip to Disneyland, then it turned out that she had shaved her daughter's head? The daughter was, in fact, perfectly well all the time and the neighbours went ballistic on finding out the truth.

The first thing that occurred to my (evil) mind was that this was a similar stunt - that's how much esteem and fame that woman has in my eyes. Still, never mind, the children will be perfectly fine with the new husband, won't they? :roll:

Part of the celebration of stupidity culture, I hope the one good thing that comes of this is a raised awareness of cervical cancer and the risks that young or underaged *** pose in relation to it - not saying that Mrs Tweed did either of course

All I know about the women is what is portrayed via the various media channels. What seems unfortunate is that her "fame" seems to be based on having revealed that she is a bit thick, a bit of a character, and is a bit foolish and naive. She's not what I would call a bad person - not deserving nor really worthy of ridicule and speculation under any circumstances, let alone the current ones.

I feel sad about it. For her, her children, her husband, and her family. Whatever any of them have done (I know very little of the true story) I can think of worse people in life upon whom I would still not wish such a ****** situation.

To be honest she barely registers on my radar. By contrast, this type of post causes me to question the motivation?

I am pretty sure that shortly before her cancer was revealed Max Clifford dumped her saying that she was a bad egg (my words, not his). Funny how he's back on board now that there is [more than] a few quid to be made out of her illness.

Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, but how the press have handled the story makes me laugh.

I agree, but I'd like to think that it would bring about an awareness of what utter tripe reality television is, how people can sit and watch people make axxxxxxxs of themselves, then the media jumps on them, then the media changes it's mind and butters them up, even if like me you don't watch it, it's reported on the radio and in the papers, you can't get away from it, absolute shxxe, perhaps this is why the commercial stations are now feeling the pinch.

I am proud to say I have never watched Big Brother but it seems that a lot of people do and rave about it. In my mind why anyone wants to watch this sort of tripe is beyond me. It has 'made' stars of a few people and Jade is one of them. I do pity her having the cancer but wonder what would have happened if she had just been another person in the street? No one would have even known about the cancer, such is the case of hundreds of people every year who do not have the coffers of the press to help their families. :roll:

Well I think it is a touchy subject,however the one word missing in her world is Dignity and perhaps if she had some then this would not be headline news.

Having said that, it is a terrible waste of life to die so young despite what she is,and thoughts go to her children.

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

In the weeks before Lady Di's death, the tabloids were heaping bile upon her, accusing her of debasing the monarchy by whoring her way round Europe with an Arab, and speculating about her state of mental health in an horribly prurient manner.

Then BANG!

Suddenly she's a goddess - the 'Peoples' Princess'!

I consider the following weeks of public bawling and 'designer grief' to be one of the most embarrassing episodes in British history.

If the unfortunate Ms Goody is afforded anything like a similar spectacle then we know our values really have gone to Hell in a handcart...

The other thing I can't stand are the bunches of flowers tied to lamp-posts by the feral relatives of scum-bag joyriders who, in their final action, have done the world a huge favour.

Whislt I wouldn't wish this sort of thing on anyone (and my sister-in-law is suffering something similar) I can always see in the back of my mind the clips of the way she treated that Indian lady on BB and that's the way she'll be remembered I think - Rob

None of these things however, would be a 'justification' for someone's life to be cut short, and probably in immense ( albeit short term ) suffering.. not to mention that of innocent kids.

A far bigger 'waste of skin' as it was put, is that mercenary Clifford.

Anyone so obviously dense is not likely to be taken seriously. I would not contrast this with intelligent. "Nounce", I think, is a good word used to describe somewhere in the middle ground where views and opinions can be wielded much more effectively and, more to the point, dangerously.

Or, to put it another way... When the news of her "racism" broke I and many just thought silly, naive girl. Kinda misguided and probably quite malleable when it comes to perhaps helping her to modify her thinking.
