Startrite T30 spindle moulder belt snapping

hi guys
iv just got a startrite t30 from ebay seems like a cracking machine but it keeps snaping belts? .... when i got it home the belt was slack and it kept slipping and i thought nothing of it and just tightend it up a bit and it was fine but after a bout 20mins use it snaped ? iv jut had a new one made up and it snaped that withing 10 mins.... can you shed any light on this maybe known problems with them ? or do you think its to tight ? iv only ever had bigger machines before at work iv just got this for my home workshop so dont really know much a bout the smaller machines..
any suggestions are welcome

Do the two pulleys look to be in line with each other??
Don't know anything about the machine, I never used one.

alignment and are the bearings tight, greased or maybe worn out.

Rob,

Without wishing to sound rude it was slipping, you tightened it and now it snaps.

Loosen it off a bit and see how you go? A sort of 50/50 point on the adjuster.

This is probably too simple but you never know

cheers guys im gonna get another belt today and have a go with it slacker .
did the guy at the top of this page ,the guy who had one have any problems ?
