Hi Pete
I am expecting delivery of my bearings today. I have ordered 6 in case I can find a way to mount bearings behind the blade as well. I think that it might be possible with the top guide but the bottom one is likely to be more problematic. Did you have any thoughts about mounting bearings behind the blades? With the top guide I thought that by replacing the rear steel rod with a 10 mm bolt I could mount a 3 sided box section of steel to the front of it and fit the bearing between the sides of the steel section. Hopefully each bearing would be sufficiently adjustable. I won't be able to play with it yet as my workshop is undergoing a 'refurbishment'. (Actually I am finishing the construction started 15 years ago!)
As far as the lower guide is concerned it doesn't look as if there is enough space to fit a bearing but I will consider this in more detail when I can get access to my bandsaw.
What do you think? Is it doable?
Regards
Peter
