One good thing about Yankees in relation to slotted screws is that you can find hex bits that are quite thick (I find the CK ones good in this respect), so you can usually select one that is a snug fit in the slot and not damage the screw. Provided you don't use the pump action, there is no more danger of it slipping than with any other screwdriver.

Yes - used like that, the length helps accuracy of slot engagement, although I do own a nice long Britool hex-bit holder, and (in any case) I also make frequent use of a brace (posts, passim)
